ニコニコダンスマスター3

While Dance Master 2 demonstrated the quality of Niconico dancers, Dance Master 3 showcased the various types of Niconico dancers. DM3 wasn't aiming to show off the famous dancers, but those with personalities. There were 11 categories: kids, house wives, salary workers, high school girls, BL, GL, heavy weights, cosplay, "te-yut-te", miscellaneous, and guests.

I actually have never visited the dance section on Niconico, so the popularity of each dancer is lost on me, but I did recognize some faces from DM2. Except for Team Black Starz, for whom I saw a short YouTube video a long long time ago and was surprised to see them again two weeks ago in DM2. XD

I really enjoyed many of the performances, regardless of the dancer's skill level. DM3 took place at Nicofarre, which was surrounded by 360° screen walls. The song choice, the video displayed on screens, the lighting; all these were weaved in as part of the choreography. Inside the room were people waving glow sticks and shouting along. On the screen walls were the comment curtains from the Live Broadcast viewers. All in all, it's a very engrossing experience. Even the Niconico user-made CMs were fun and even touching to watch.

The guests were the well-known dancers, and there were a lot of collaboration between guests, making every guest presentation a treat. みうめ+気まぐれﾌﾟﾘﾝｽ and にゃんたろProject+Team Black Starz were really awesome! However, I was disappointed at the secret guest DANCEROID. Two or three members of DANCEROID were at AX this year and danced a few songs before the MIKUPOLIS concert, but I really didn't care for them.

ダンマス3は凄く楽しかった！素晴らしでした！

I think I should check out the dance section on Niconico sometimes when I have the time. XD

不思議な靴屋

While getting cat food yesterday, I noticed a store in the mall advertising its closing sale. Since I lost my short scarf last winter, I thought I'd check out the store.

Unfortunately, even with the 50%~80% off, I didn't see anything to my liking or budget.

As I walked out the store, I glanced at the shoe store next to it. Since I will need a pair of shoes at work to change into from the snow boots, I thought I'd check out the store.

Unfortunately, I was wearing sandals today and so couldn't try on the shoes properly.

As I was walking out of the store, I passed by a few pegs of products, one of which caught my attention. The original price was $16.99 and it had a sales sticker for $7.

I left the shoe store with a $3 scarf. XD

PS. 4°C is possibly the limit of sandals... I may need to leave them home tomorrow for the 0°C.

夏番總結

夏番單季作品跟春番半年季作品的觀後感。

之前寫了前三話的感想，當時非排名的五部期待作是夏目友人帳、ぬらりひょんの孫 ～千年魔京～、ダンタリアンの書架、神様のメモ帳、跟輪るピングドラム。千年魔京跟輪るピングドラム都是半年季所以會跟秋番一起，而春番的期待作之一へうげもの竟然是三季作，所以也會跟秋番一起。

NO.6
- BONES的作畫的確沒話説，到最後都很穩定，這是唯一沒讓我翻桌的原因
- 就算不提個人死穴的BL味，果然還是詰めが甘い，可惜了設定。城壁崩毀的意境不錯，但是超不爽復活術
- 結果整部能讓人提起興趣的只有借狗人跟老鼠兩個好女人 XD
= 雖然動畫化必然刪減了很多地方，不過結局應該跟已完結的原作相差不遠。不打算碰原作小説

Steins;Gate
- 起承轉結的很棒，完美地串連了頭尾。居然跟戰B2一樣最後丟出劇場版(γ世界線?)製作決定ｗｗｗ
- 預設科幻以外還包含了オタ、陰謀論、寒蟬意味的三週＋熱血解等屬性，不但目から汗，居然還有閃光～
- 宮野真守超讚，主役真的是捨彼其誰。花澤香菜的まゆしぃ超治癒，不是女主角實在遺憾
= 雖然已見true end，還是想玩原作遊戲。番外的比翼恋理在360無理，8bit有可能。ドラマCD預定補完

TIGER&BUNNY
- 雖然人設是那個樣，其實是蠻有張力的作品，還好主役聲優有釣到我 XD
- 虎兔相遇始於公主抱，再遇當然也要公主抱 XD
- 最後的最後那張紙幣伏筆好詐 XD
= 有出R1版BD/DVD的話應該會敗。二期收看決定～

うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ マジLOVE1000%
- 女主角的人設真的很蠢，但是這部擺明就是賣聲優跟角色歌曲，所以本來就沒期待故事
- 通常毎部都會推配對的我居然不萌任何配對，尤其對女主角完全沒興趣，以乙女遊戲來説失格了
- 結尾果然又是大爆笑的演唱會，不過至少放了完整版的歌。夏番最正經在做的歡楽作品ｗｗｗ
= まあ、如果偶然入手遊戲的話會玩吧，不會特地去找。聽歌就好 XD

神様ドォルズ
- 果然二期やる気満々，還最後放預告期待夠多人荷包支援能做續集 XD
- 第一次聽到這麼S的花菜，發展出新聲線了 XD
- 那個超故意的胸部還真是不是普通的不自然，就某方面來説非常引人注意ｗｗｗ
= 雖然如果出了二期我會看（但不期待），除非是阿幾ｘ靄子，不然沒打算看原作漫畫

にゃんぱいあ The Animation
- 構圖跟内容都非常簡單，但是就是很對我胃口
- 這麼有趣的東西為什麼只有三分鐘啊～～～～
- 開始録音之時只有福山是不同公司，播放的時候變小清水，現在五個主要角色都是狗糧社了 XD
= 原作同人誌重製成漫畫版了的樣子，有機會想看看

Sacred Seven
- 最後十分鐘的偽人工衛星墜下超展開有笑到，殺必死役的ナイト漂得真白 XD
- 藍羽家雇執事跟女僕的目的是建立傭兵部隊嗎ｗｗｗ
- 果然還是討厭大小姐，部長跟翡比較萌，但是到最後我才知道是… 野水伊織的正太不行啦 囧rz
= SUNRISE原創的單純假面騎士番。只對丹童子ｘ部長有興趣，有空去找同人好了

いつか天魔の黒ウサギ
- 真的是很無力的展開，大部分角色的吸引力也不足，伝勇伝的張力到哪裡去了 orz
- 主凶毫無疑問是在大兎面前裝出楚楚可憐的雙面魔女跟完全不知所以然而愛上魔女的大兎
- 除了男女主角以外，幾乎所有配角的聲優都很棒。基本上是靠配角的聲優看完的
= 鏡貴也擅長鋪陳長篇小説，所以最後應該有看頭，但是現時間點對原作小説興趣不大

まよチキ!
- 最後一話的番外篇捏他滿滿是怎樣，居然還一直出現某人的女兒ｗｗｗ
- 日野聡還是一如往常；通常對喜多村英梨沒什麼感覺，但是大小姐的聲線有萌
- 雖然一開始還算支持スバル，第四話之後就變成推近次郎ｘマサムネ跟近次郎ｘ奏
= 純校園又只有一個男性角色的後宮作，對沒有聲優演出的原作小説沒什麼興趣

バカとテストと召喚獣にっ!
- 結果全部看完的感想跟初盤三話的感想沒什麼兩樣（良い意味で）
- 試了兩期還是無法喜歡瑞希，覺得超煩；翔子別一直虐雄二的話我會喜歡説
- 不過反正這部的重點是秀吉跟男性笨蛋集團，毋需在意那些偽女角 XD
= 動畫的演出很不錯，又一堆捏他，跟原作小説應該頗有出入。目前沒找原作的打算，有機會再説

Blood-C
- CLAMP的劇本居然(還)沒有爛尾Σ(°Д°；) 劇場版的髮型看起來似乎沒那麼獵奇了，也許可以期待？
- 一開始感覺很假的違和感果然不假，真的都是假的。XD 魔王以外有真的演員倒是有點意外
- 野島大魔王一開始就超級明顯；那隻四月一日到底是來串什麼場的(連沒看過xxxHOLiC的我都發現了)
= 血腥獵奇度目前只有看過5分鐘的elfen lied能比。最後兩話揭黑幕不差，但是中途展開慢到想放棄

Blade
- 原版面已不復存在，不過我不得不推某島上有人在收看時，於三國志裡稱霸中原的事蹟 XD
- 我是利用時間tag了幾十張單曲跟OST，然後看了幾本漫畫 :Q
- 當初一定是神智不清才會抓這部，劇情無聊就算了，畫風居然比因為受不了人設卻下的トリコ還爛 orz
= 好在Marvel Anime企劃就此結束，MADHOUSEの無駄使い已經夠了，回去做正常動畫吧

ダンタリアンの書架
- 黄昏の書那話讓我想到某河森的認真惡搞合体蘿蔔作裡的某（官方説是故意）超崩壞話ｗｗｗ
- 最終話詠讀的其實就是OP拉丁語歌詞的日文版，雖然是意義不明的詞句，我還蠻喜歡這種伏筆
- 原本就喜歡ヒューイ類型的角色，前傳那話尤其鞏固其地位。比起黒の読姫，我更欣賞銀の読姫
= 原作小説已完結，但是目前還沒看到過。應該是我會想讀的類型，預定補完。有出R1的話會敗

うさぎドロップ
- 劇情是漫畫第一部，4本畫成11話，pace抓的很好，作畫也都有維持水準
- 内容非常樸實溫馨，難得小孩個性都算可愛，不過是2D限定
- 可惜寫三話感想的時候不小心在wiki看到捏他，所以四話後都戴著某種濾鏡在看…
= 之前有看到原作漫畫，但是封面畫風覺得沒有動畫好就沒入手。有出R1的話應該會敗

花咲くいろは
- 前期就開始跳過太緒花中心的連續劇，靠作畫跟民子撐到12話仍然考慮放棄
- 一開始完全是因為PA WORKS才看的，最後也是因為想看超精美作畫才卯起來衝完
- 劇情本身的故事性不高，作為小品又稍嫌散漫，除了作畫以外完全不是我的菜
= 有漫畫化的連動，但是作畫當然沒有PA WORKS漂亮，卻下

神様のメモ帳
- 雖然有料到最後的案件會比較沉重，沒想到居然讓我最喜歡的女性角色發生這種事…
- 但其實是原作第一本的劇情，很多地方也改了順序導致前後有點矛盾。在接受範圍内就是
- 難得地喜歡我方全部角色，包括通常有傾向無視掉的蘿莉。還不錯的小品
= 手上沒有原作小説，但是就動畫來看應該是我會想讀的類型，預定補完。有出R1的話會敗

青の祓魔師
- 雙子母親居然是林原めぐみ！但是從外公出場後到結局應該都是原創，整個暴走掉有點殘念
- 不過無視殘念結局的話還是有燃到，而且澤野的音樂太讚了，豪華聲優陣又運用得很棒
- 愛數eins, zwei, drei的偽浮士德神谷超級讚，怎麼看怎麼high～XD
= 動畫化後原作漫畫銷量暴增7倍，R1遲早會敗(Aniplex USA orz)。漫畫預定補完，劇場版期待

猫神やおよろず
- 非常平淡的東西，本來想最後根津魅篇也許會比較有看頭，結果焦點完全轉掉變得很無聊
- 當初看PV被四個聲優的名字釣上，但是其實加起來戲份比櫻花甚至貧窮神還少 orz
- 因為夏番作品比較少就加減看了，在秋番的話會直接刷掉吧。有幾話還不錯就是
= 沒有聲優加持就完全沒興趣看原作漫畫

夏目友人帳 参
- 参的風格跟前兩期相差甚多，加快了一貫單話的悠然歩調，還跑出黑幕鬱回，但依然不減其治癒度
- 前兩期主要描述夏目與祖母對妖的態度及互動，参則著墨於夏目和同伴（人類與妖）之間建立的羈絆
- ニャンコ先生還是一如往常地可愛到爆表，不管哪種姿態都超想抱啊～～～～
= 手上有原作漫畫，不過目前排在中間左右，還要好一陣子才會輪到。第四期預定是冬番的本命了 XD


Steins;Gate跟青の祓魔師都是春番的期待作，除了不敵本命的夏目以外，直接幹掉所有夏番作！其實S.G.幾乎追上跟夏目同分，但是輸在我並非對所有實驗室成員都有愛，而夏目裡除了出來兩話的黑幕以外，我所有準角色都喜歡。白兔糖差一點被書架打下第五名，只是書架在劇本編排上留了太多洞。

這次很難得地把整季都補完了。聽聲優在同一季中的不同作品裡的角色差別真是有趣啊～ XD

最近大家都開始在最後一話放完後丟出劇場版製作決定的消息，有的甚至在播完前就已經決定做劇場版了。我是無所謂啦，只要別為了把大絶都留在劇場版而讓TV版爛尾就行（對，我就是在説那部CLAMP的同人作）。R1版方面，很多代理商也開始在新番播出前後就搶下版權，大概一年内就能買到R1版。對敗家派的我來説是好消息，不過對我的荷包來説是很令人消瘦的事就是ｗｗｗ

I eat a lot and am always eating. I only sleep enough to function, which is less than that of the average person. I don't exercise. Actually, make that I don't move.

Health-wise, I don't get sick often, but little problems would pop up now and then when I don't get enough sleep. And when I do get sick, I'm usually out for a good couple of days.

You'd expect me to be sicker from my lifestyle, since I'm essentially relying on 1.5 out of 3. But if you look at it, I basically live on my earnings and some savings, so I can manage without having any investment. For now.

As I grow older, the maintenance cost of my body also increases, but there's a limit on my maximum income (how much I can eat without eating into diseases). So when I don't have enough savings in stock (average 6 hrs), I run into problem and feel sick.

Luckily, savings can be increased by having a higher interest rate, so many of the health issues I experience can often be cured by simply concentrating on sleep. とにかく爆睡だ！ Even wild animals heal their wounds by resting and eating (I think)!

睡眠は本当に重要だな…　もっと眠るがいい！

I'll need to keep that in mind. Try to, at least.

護廷十三隊侵軍篇 前半

Just started today (ep.317) and got only half way through so far (ep.332), but I have an urge to do a proper rant (not the abridged few lines I threw at Neko-tan, who's almost 300 episodes behind me on Bleach).

Let me praise the good points first. This filler arc creates an environment and circumstance to pit the shinigami against each other and their own selves. Thanks to this arc being made after the arrancar saga, there are more known skills and techniques to liven the battles. As a result, the first half was filled with some pretty good fights in Soul Society.

I have no complaints about the seiyuu for the new characters, especially Furukawa Toshio. Furukawa is probably most well known for his roles in Urusai Yatsura, Dragon Ball series (Piccolo!), and Fist of the North Star. Unfortunately, I've never watched any of those. I only know him as Kai Shiden from the UC Gundam series. But I did attend his panel at AX this year. XD

Now the rant.

I previously said "in Soul Society" when praising about the first half, because most of the scenes taking place in the Real World are lacklustre and often contradicting the principle settings of Bleach. They're supposed to apply area locks to minimize damage to the Real World when there are battles involving high spirit levels. The strengths of Vice Captain class and above are restricted by default in the Real World. And Ichigo shouldn't be doing bankai so casually here and there in the Real World, especially considering that he's supposed to be a lot weaker now.

But my biggest annoyance is the original main character. Nozomi feels too much like Senna, and this whole 'Ichigo & co. doing everything to protect the seemingly helpless girl (but holds the key and victimizes herself trying to either kill herself or shoulder the weight of the whole world) from the bad guys' thing also brings back the experience from MEMORIES OF NOBODY. While the extent isn't as bad as in MEMORIES OF NOBODY, it's still painful to watch.

She's given the shinigami treatment and a zanpakutou, despite her nature of existence. Her zanpakutou reminds me of the blazing sword in Voltron, and its ability is essentially the combination of Hisagomaru/Ryuumonhoozukimaru and Sogyo no Kotowari. The process of getting her shikai back also goes beyond common sense settings. There's simply no way for a zanpakutou in its pre-shikai state to withstand Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho in bankai form.

I think ep.332 is a good spot to break up the arc and I'll pick up again next weekend. I'm trying to adhere to schedule and finish the summer series so I can start on the fall series next week. Hopefully I won't be as annoyed by the further settings and development next weekend.

What? How come I'm only starting the arc today when I already watched ep.342? Because I couldn't wait to see Ichigo x RukiaYou're not supposed to notice... *casts Nifuramu* Be gone!

こんなの絶対おかしいよ

While Region 1 anime is a lot cheaper compare to Region 2 ones, anime series are still at least twice as much as regular TV series or movies in North America. And among the anime distributors, Aniplex USA is no doubt the most notorious for its expensive price tags.

It's pretty much common sense that Aniplex USA's prices are at least twice of other anime series. That's the only reason why I haven't bought the DVDs for the very highly acclaimed Durarara. I would definitely love to own the series, but not for that price. 後悔なんて、あるわけない。

When Neko-tan and Magic Frog were talking about the North American license for Puella Magi Madoka Magica but forgetting who the distributor was, I recalled telling Neko-tan before that it would likely have nice packaging but be expensive. As soon as I repeated that description, I immediately re-linked the forgotten name to be Aniplex USA.

So with much anxiety and worry (for my wallet), I considered the possible release options and waited for the news. 夢の中で逢った、ような……

The verdict is here. The 12-episode series will be released in three parts in the limited BD/DVD edition, and regular BD and DVD versions.

Recent trend in the limited BD releases in Japan often include extras such as soundtracks, commentaries, booklets, etc. North American releases usually don't get any of this due to copyrights and labour cost reasons. I was quite shocked to learn that the limited editions of Madoka come with the soundtracks (no commentary tracks, though, and all other extras are negligible IMO)! 奇跡も、魔法も、あるんだよ。それはとっても嬉しいなって～

But I under-estimated Aniplex USA. あたしって、ほんとバカ。

Even for the regular BD version, it comes to US$10 per episode before tax. そんなの、あたしが許さない！ I'm not going to hope for reasonable prices from Aniplex USA again... もう誰にも頼らない！

本当の気持ちと向き合えますか? Yes, which is why I'm NOT going to buy this. While Madoka is interesting for a mahou shoujo show and I think QB is really cute, it's not high up on my list to deserve the big investment.

Luckily, Neko-tan pointed out an alternative: Region 3 BD. There probably won't be any of the BD extras, but the price tag will be within reach. 最後に残った道しるべ！ It's also translated by Haniwa! I haven't followed up on Haniwa's blog and stuff for many years, but I know I can always trust the quality of his work. わたしの、最高の友達～

So now all I need to worry about is the Region 1 release for Fate/Zero. Having seen the price tags of Madoka, I won't be taken off guard when the time comes for Fate/Zero. もう何も恐くない。 orz

PS. If you watched Madoka, you'd recognize the Japanese phrases randomly inserted throughout the post to be the 12 episode titles for the series. They weren't planned at first. I just felt like putting them all in after I wrote in the post title. Some of them don't really fit, but... meh! XD

佐咲紗花 LIVE Link to You 01

Since the Flash player kept crashing on me, I decided to abandon the 9-hr RO World Championship broadcast and switched to the 2-hr Sasaki Sayaka live.

The only other time where I had heard her was in Animax Musix Fall 2010, where I took note of her.

The live took place in a small club house setting with a live band, and the majority of the songs were anime song covers. I am only familiar with some of them, but that actually freed me from too much comparison , and I was able to just enjoy the performance as is (btw, she's definitely not as good as some of the original singers, but she's better than some others in lives).

The special secret guest was Hydain. I used to listen to him on Niconico where he arranged and added lyrics to game BGMs in his real voice and falsetto. Haven't kept tabs on him once he started writing songs for people. I did, however, recognize his voice in the live action ED sequence of Nyanpire.

I think Sasaki really has potentials. Her natural pitch is on the higher side so she appeared a little stretched when doing lower keys, but she really shines when it comes to powerful high voices (again demonstrated with IN MY DREAM here). The fact that she was able to do the solo live for almost two hours straight, except for a band solo track while she changed and two very very brief intro and talks, also speaks volumes of her energy level and drive.

All in all, it was an enjoyable broadcast. It's a little regrettable that the encore part wasn't shown, where she sang the much anticipated Zzz. But I've never heard that song so it wasn't as much a let down for me as for all the people who left comments about it.

Next up in schedule to watch tomorrow: the 3-hr Niconico Dance Master 3. I quite enjoyed the 3-hr Niconico Dance Master 2, so I look forward to this one!

Premium membership is dirt cheap when compared to cable TV. Who needs TV when there's Niconico. XD

紅茶入れってみた、を見ました

I am in the middle of viewing a past broadcast of 『Do★NICO!』ニコニコ​本社で「やってみた」しよう！ on Niconico, where they invite people to drop by the main office to dance or sing.

It was held at the TEA ROOM 2525 cafe inside the office building, and when there was no guest, they just grabbed some of the staff off the cafe floor to introduce them. Apparently, Niconico users are hired to work at the cafe, which provides them an environment to create their work as well.

And Nagare-san demonstrated how to make good tasting black tea from tea bags in very simple steps. XD

Here's how:
- Warm the tea cup. This makes sure there won't be a temperature drop for the tea (he had hot water in the cup and made sure the whole cup was warmed before dumping out the water).
- Puff up the tea bag to the point that the tea leaves "swim", as described fittingly by a user comment, freely inside the tea bag. This ensures that the flavour comes out nicely.
- Pour the hot water, then slowly put in the tea bag. This also helps to get the flavour out evenly (he later explained that if the tea bag is placed in first before pouring the hot water, the tea leaves might clump under the force and thus preventing all the flavour to come out).
- Cover the tea cup fully for roughly one minute. The time depends on the size and type of tea leaves; larger leaves may require up to one and a half minute, whereas smaller leaves would be good with one minute (he used a simple alarm to sound in one minute).
- Remove the cover and slowly take out the tea bag. The black tea should appear to be two layers in the tea cup.
- Gently stir the cup once with the tea spoon to mix up the tea.
- Et voilà!

Watching this kinda makes me wanna make my own tea bag black tea. Maybe I should go get some black tea and actually plug in my electric water kettle. XD

ルキア

Just finished watching Bleach ep.342 and I felt like crying (but only teared up). What am I going to do without Rukia for at least the next 13 episodes or so? （つд｀）

The filler arc drastically cheapens and weakens the impact of the arrancars saga closure for the anime, but this Rukia-focus episode preps the merge back to the main plot somewhat in terms of character emotions. I even squealed when Ichigo held Rukia's hand while teaching her to ice skate! XD The animation art for the episode is also unusually good for very long series like Bleach. Rukia's last cut is so beautiful and heartrending. （つд｀）

The slide show during the ED is a great touch to end, illustrating the interactions between Rukia and Ichigo thus far, as well as key scenes when they saved and supported each other.

I was quite melancholy throughout the episode knowing that this would be the last time I see Rukia for a good many months... But ecstatic that she's re-appeared in the manga!! ( ﾟ ∀ ﾟ )

最後まで見守りします！絶対二人で幸せになるんだぞ！

ねんどろいどぷち ボーカロイド#01

去年入手了一套ねんどろいどぷち ボーカロイド#01，沒地方擺就一直封印在盒子裡沒開。不久前弄到一個書架，可以拿來擺設，就利用週末的時候開箱了！

照片？等我有空再説吧。房間只有一盞床頭櫃上的小燈，窗簾又是萬年不開，光線不足，要照也照不好。想看專業無惡搞的彩色見本版請到アキバHOBBY。什麼？我照的話當然會惡搞。XD

這套一箱十二盒，樣式是十種普通版加一隻隱藏版。之前買別的整套盒玩，多出來的一盒都是空盒塞空間而已，但是這套似乎是隨機多一隻普通版，所以我手上是兩隻亞北ネル。這種東西毎隻的塗裝跟接縫等會有些許差異，等於是靠運氣決定手上東西的品質跟能動度。介紹按照開盒順序，請搭配上面網站的照片食用～

MEIKO
可愛的姉貴！右手那個姿勢根本是在拿酒瓶！沒附小道具有點遺憾。XD 背後的支架有一點鬆，需要調整才能站直。

咲音メイコ
更可愛版的超偶像風姉貴！這才是正確的キラっ☆手勢啊～～～ 背後支架很緊，可以隨意騰空增加躍動感。

鏡音リン

我其實最期待的就是大哥，可是衣服塗裝比別隻劣得很明顯，而且頭髮前後完全合不攏，側面根本不能看。擺姿因為手的形状受到比較多限制，還好背後的圍巾可以弄成有風的樣子～ 但是圍巾的洞太小塞不進去，用刀片刮過後才插進去。背後接支架的洞開的太低，挺直的話會整隻站在stand的後半部導致不穩。到底是對大哥有什麼怨恨…

亞北ネル
吐舌的小惡魔風！這箱裡除了隱藏版唯二不是空手的一隻，但是右手的手機是一體的，所以其實也不算是小道具。馬尾超難接，而且折進去的地方裡有一小塊黑黑的，不過因為折角還算深，大部分角度都不會看到。應該也能用刀片刮掉就是。後來開出來的那隻就很乾淨，留在原包裝裡沒拆。

はちゅねミク
全關節可動隱藏版！完美的治癒呆臉！還附了有拿葱的右手可換！而且雙馬尾可以拿來當飛行道具！ XD

鏡音レン
跟リン一樣的臉跟姿勢！但是打開以後我非常確信塗裝的人對男性角色很沒愛。一樣是雙子，レン的耳機模很粗糙，衣服的塗裝瑕疵也很多。背後的支架的洞稍微低了一點，不過姿勢騰空比較看不出來。

初音ミク
不愧是招牌娘，質量跟存在感十足，而且還附兩根葱！背後的支架怎麼樣也插不進去，但是雙馬尾站得超級穩！不過這樣就不能換髮型了，有點殘念。去年給猫的單盒就是抽到這隻。

弱音ハク
沒怎麼在注意亞種，但是這隻有萌點！因為是中空造型所以身體上下接縫的地方有點明顯，還是很可愛～

サイハテミク
造型一看就知道是離別主題，原曲是pop requiem風的破兩百萬播放次數的名VOCALOID曲。雖然曲子不是我的菜，但是這隻衣服的質感很不錯。沒什麼惡搞的空間，礙於原曲主題我也不打算惡搞就是。因為雙馬尾一定得垂下，就一樣沒接支架自然站立了。

巡音ルカ
莊重的氣質大姐！不止看上去很有份量，拿在手上也覺得比較重大姐妳是吃太多鮪魚還是章魚燒嗎。擺姿因為受手跟頭髮的造型所限，沒什麼可以玩的。

話説這套有海賊版，而且品質還真是不可思議地差。這是要騙誰 orz

雖然不是正式的粘土人，不過我能了解為什麼這個坑只要一打開就會永無止盡地拖人下去。真的非常可愛又可玩。然後我剛才不小心看到這個，正在考慮中（爆

I first saw them in Gundam ep.29 but have since kinda forgot about them.

Then I saw them again today in Kamisama no Memochou ep.5 and wondered what they're called (my memory fails me so much it's sad). Luckily, the name of the animal was spelled out so I could easily throw it into my trusty friend Google.

Capybara is most cute!! XDDDD

Wikipedia, as usual, contains a lot of information on the animal. But this site is more comprehensive and easy to read. Go read up on this very cute rodent!

厄介な事になった

It's a well known fact that I hate going to the dentist, with a passion and good reasons. Another just popped up today. Well, it's got nothing to do with the actual dental procedures and tools that I detaste so much, but it'll make future visits more painful.

I might be in the beginning stage of gum recession for one of the upper teeth. As a result, that tooth has become more sensitive.

They speculated the problem may had stemmed from me brushing too hard. I shall get softer tooth brush and see if it helps. Not sure how effective the whatever agent they applied today is and how long it lasts (it was very expensive for the little bit applied; I nearly coughed up a Sir Borden orz), but hopefully my gum stays where it is now and stops shrinking.

On a side note, there is an Apple Store in the mall where the dental clinic is located. I made a point to drop by to see how the locals are remembering Steve Jobs.

One of the four glass walls lining the front of the store was made into a mini-shrine where people could leave flowers and stick post-its on the glass wall. The mall wasn't open yet so I was able to read the many messages in peace. He had definitely touched and changed many people's lives. Again, R.I.P.

Went voting after work today.

My voting booth was at a school near my building. There were candidate banners on the lawn leading up to the school ground, and there were big VOTE signs directing where to go to vote.

The voting process itself was pretty quick and painless. I was in and out within in less than five minutes.

As I opened volume 9 of Toradora to read and headed toward the sidewalk lining in front of the school, I overheard the conversation between two of the (probably high school) students that were playing near the side entrance for the gym where the voting took place.

In a tone implying that he had suddenly attained enlightenment, student A learned that there was a voting at the school! And all those people they had seen going in and out of the entrance were there to vote. He then proceeded to ask student B if the whole province of Ontario was voting.

All right. I admit that I'm very very out of the loop when it comes to current events or any kind of news 99% of the time, and I only knew of the election because I got the notice of registration. But if my school is acting as a voting booth for an election, I'm sure I would know, either from the school's announcement or my friends. Not to mention there were three big VOTE signs within 10 metres of that entrance where they were fooling around.

I thought there wouldn't be people even more oblivious than me. I'm surprised and worried that I was wrong.

Steve Jobs 1955-2011

I have never owned anything Apple, but I do think Steve Jobs was an inspirational leader in the industry. He had been mocked in many aspects, from his words to the way he dressed, but that's how much attention the world paid to him.

I don't know enough about Jobs so I'm not going to even try, but I will always remember him as the man who made the Apple today.

There was news last week of the possible adaptation of this manga series into an anime, though it's not clear whether it'll be a TV series or OVA as of yet.

If it's going to be a TV series, my guess is that it'll probably be 2-season, ending with the Seeker arc by volume 10. BTW, I only have the first six volumes and read up to vol.11 so far...

I was excited and worried at the same time when I read the news. Excited because I quite like the manga and worried that bad animation/casting would ruin the anime. Samurai Deeper Kyo is a case in point: despite having an excellent seiyuu cast, the lame plot change and cheap animation made it a meh series. I try to buy the manga volumes when I can, but I have no desire to get the anime.

There's no point pondering on what can go wrong, when nothing has been decided or announced for the project. Shounen series usually don't get the quality treatment when it comes to anime production, but at least I can daydream about the seiyuu cast.

まあ、like I said, this is just a daydream list. It'll be far from what the actual list will be, but I hope some of these names appear when the project is confirmed.

老化

For the past week, my internet connection has been very flaky. Images often don't load properly and my downloads are incomplete a lot of the times. And if I run any torrent, I'm guaranteed to be kicked offline within minutes. Although my internet connection would be restored shortly after I close the torrent client, it's still a hassle.

Neko-tan pointed out today it's likely the internet modem getting old and not able to handle the traffic when there's too many simultaneous connections and would halt the whole thing. Unfortunately, it's easy to just go into a store and buy a modem in LA, but not here. I'm considering getting a new modem when I switch ISP, but that won't happen for some time yet.

In the mean time, I've toned down the maximum connection setting for the torrent client in half, and only running a single queue at a time, leaving the bulk of the queue for when I go to sleep. It's helped a lot, but still annoying.

As a result of the unstable week, I wasn't able to utilize my already unlimited bandwidth effectively. Such as waste...

Fate/Zero ep.1

Just finished watching the 47:40-long 1st episode of Fate/Zero on Niconico. Unfortunately, the promised Chinese subtitle did not happen due to a delay in delivery to ensure quality. I settled for English sub, but it wasn't as easy to follow given the sentence structures in the two languages. I ended up ignoring the subtitle a lot of the times to better understanding what's being said. orz

Not gonna spoil the story itself, but it looks very promising and likely complete. I'll refrain from acquiring and reading the original novels before finishing the anime. I do want to comment on the high quality of the animation by ufotable, though. Really sleek and smooth. I'm definitely getting the blu-ray for it when it comes out in North America.

The only thing is that it's under Aniplex, which means it'll have a nice packaging, unavailable in Canada and quite expensive. The only Aniplex-distributed products I have so far are the two Gurren Lagann movies that I got at AX and RightStuf... (I want Durarara & Blue Exorcist... *sniff*)

The music by Kajiura Yuki wasn't too obvious, but that may be because this is only the first episode which introduces most of the main actors. I'm sure her music will shine through once things start to roll and the tension rises.

In comparison, Kawai Kenji's music was quite prominent in Fate/stay night TV, but that one pretty much jumped right into action to accommodate the game content into the TV series (and still left out so much...)

Since Niconico only shows 480p, I'll still be grabbing the 720p for it, the default treatment I give to the one honmei series for every season. Hopefully starting next week, the Chinese sub will make it in time on Niconico so I won't have to endure the English sub.

Fate/EXTRA

I was browsing through Amazon.ca when I saw this. After confirming that it will have the Japanese voice tracks, I placed the pre-order immediately.

While searching for confirmation on the audio option, it seems that Aksys will be releasing Fate/EXTRA and Hakuouki with Japanese audio only. I didn't see Hakuouki listed on Amazon.ca, so I thought I'd check the Aksys website to see if there's more information.

These games are not yet released and are not under the Game section on the site, and I had to perform in-site searches. Hakuouki rendered 0 result, so I guess it'll be some time before it comes out. One of the results for Fate/EXTRA, on the other hand, pointed out something that made me want to say 「卑怯な！」

An exclusive bonus item, a 20-page Fate/the Fact booklet that inspects the Fate/EXTRA world (translated from the same Japanese pre-order bonus), is available for online and in-store pre-orders with Gamestop.ca (online only for the US). Nothing for Amazon orders as usual...

There's a handling fee for online orders on Gamestop.ca, so I'll drop by the local EB Games store tomorrow after work to pre-order the game. Then I'll cancel the Amazon.ca pre-order.

As for Hakuouki, even though it'll be in full Japanese audio, I'm still debating whether to get it, or try to get an imported version. Since the whole game is centred around historic events with lots of traditional language usage, I'm leaning toward the Japanese version with the original text. English subs work much less effectively in a traditional Japanese setting.

カレーの錬金術師

This isn't actually an experiment but more of an extension/improvement of the 2nd one.

Ingredients involved: curry, minced pork, carrot, blue berries, water, vanilla ice cream; yogourt drink

Steps:
- Pan fry the minced pork a bit so it's not in one giant meat ball
- Throw everything else into the pot and let boil in low heat
- Watch a few episodes of anime
- Add ice cream after everything was nicely mixed together
- Stir and done

Result: Success!

The overall taste is slightly on the sweet side, but not overpowering the curry. The 2nd experiment had grape tomatoes and therefore was a bit more sour. The two scoops of ice cream might had contributed to the flavour as well. XD

By the time I turned off the stove, the curry looked kinda thick. So I brought a small bottle of yogourt drink just in case and added it to the curry+rice lunch box before heating it up in the microwave.

Not only did it gave the rice a hint of flavour, it went very well with the blue berries. It was very good. :3

Although my cube-mate complained that my hybrid curry gave off a strange smell...

Unfortunately, that was the last of my blue berry stock so I won't be able to reproduce the recipe for a while. Unless I want to explore those PC frozen fruit bags...

On a side whim, I think I will give myself the title of Curry Alchemist (and changed the title of this post accordingly from Curry Experiment #4), since I like to play with different materials to make that pot of gold. XD

初Dr Pepper

This thing's been around for years, but it has typically been under the radar with so many more well known competitions. I had always wondered about its taste, but most people that tried it back in my high school days claimed it's for the eccentrics.

Apparently it tastes like Taiwanese (Asian?) cold syrups, so a lot of people from Taiwan dislike the drink.

But the drink has made its name in recent anime series, namely Steins;Gate and Kamisama no Memochou (and maybe the upcoming Persona 4), and anime fans around the world are drawn to pick up the drink.

I thought I'd give it a try as well when I spotted it today.

The first sip did kinda remind me of the cold syrups I used to smell but refused to take when I was little. But I got used to the smell and taste quickly after a few more sips.

It kinda lost its lustre after a few hours when it became lukewarm, and just went down like cherry-flavoured coke. Not as good as when it's still fresh, but it's somewhat unavoidable 'cause that's usually how long it takes for me to finish one can of pop...

All in all, I don't find it disgusting like my classmates used to describe it. I can see how some people would get addicted to its taste. While not quite your usual coke, the cherry flavour is still easy on the taste buds and even soothing at times.

On a side note, I scanned the can and noticed that the caffeine content was 41mg/355ml. According to Coca Cola's website and a quick calculation, the Classic is about 34mg/355ml. I don't drink coffee so I don't know how much those amount to, but I couldn't help but think that maybe the slightly higher caffeine content in Dr Pepper gives people more of a kick, and as a result leaves the impression that brain-using people run off it more?

Although I'm leaning toward the feelings I got back in my high school days, that people think it's for the eccentrics. Mad Scientist Hououin Kyouma and NEET Detective Alice should be proof enough. XD

まおゆう魔王勇者

Neko-tan pointed me to a BBS thread before which showed the first chapter of two versions of the manga. While the content was intriguing, I didn't quite care for the character design. So I kinda forgot about the series after that.

Neko-tan pointed me to another BBS thread today which showed a few pages from different volumes and served as a quick introduction to one of the manga versions. While I still don't care for the character design very much (except for the Emma head maid XD), my interest was piqued.

So I set out to search for more information on the manga.

And I found that the original was actually an impromptu work posted on the 2ch VIP board between September to November in 2009. It's written in a play style, with a label indicating the location of the scene, followed by the character's lines. There's no names, just their caste. i.e. Hero, Maou, Head Maid, Female Knight, Young Businessman, etc.

The popularity and the original medium format prompted the publication project, with four different manga versions by four different manga artists beside the original text version. The one Neko-tan introduced me to follows the canon and is apparently the most popular amongst the four.

The manga makes it easier to get into the story and digest the economics, sociology and agriculture elements that make up a major portion of the revolution started by the Maou and the Hero. I haven't found the manga yet, but I'll keep trying when I have time.

In the meantime, the first chapter is available as a free download on the project website. The rest (just the first volume, maybe?) can be read online in their original format here.

ファイナルファンタジーXIII-2

Just watched the trailers. ちょっと微妙。

Since it'll probably be a long time before I can get a copy of the Japanese version (almost got it for XIII, but it didn't work out), I'm not going to delve into the game play mechanics and stuff shown in the trailers. Just the characters.

Lightning's new design is pretty nice, but her beautiful features are cloaked with a thin veil of melancholy as she had failed to protect the future. Even though she's still a key character in XIII-2, I'm somewhat sad that she's not the protagonist.

The protagonist, Noel Kreiss, looks like he time-slipped from FF X with the costume and accessories, but better designed than the blitz ball uniforms. XD I patted myself on the back when I recognized him as being voice by Kishio Daisuke.

I can't determine who カイアス and ユール are, but I think I've heard their voices before, especially ユール's...

The heroine for XIII-2 seems to be Serah, whom I don't care much for. Serah appears to get help from a Moogle. Ah, how I miss them Moogles! :D

When Hope appeared, I had to wonder how many years it's been since XIII. Serah didn't seem to have grown at all. With the recent boom of Kaji playing lead roles in various series, I'm tired of hearing him again, to tell the truth. But to Kaji's credit, I think he did a good job transiting from the youth in XIII to young adult in XIII-2.

Snow... went from the hero leader of a group of rebel ヤンキー, to a wild ヤンキー himself with a really really bad hairdo. Put your hat back on, man! orz

Omake:
Since XIII-2 is a sequel, there's a special site that tells the story of XIII (with spoiler warnings everywhere for those who haven't finished the game). I was quite delighted when I saw the sprites in the character page, and squealed when I saw the XIII time line. The sprites move! Reminds me so much of Final Fantasy VI. Ah, the good old days. （つд｀）

@games often have collaboration with various anime series, and one of the current projects is Steins;Gate.

While the character costume gacha for the @games Selphy avatars require actual purchase of the @games currency, there are other free events as well.

I've been so far unsuccessful in developing the fourth future gadget in order to obtain the background frame for the Selphy, but I've accumulated 8 cases of burnt Juicy Fried No.1 and multiples of the other three future gadgets. orz

As the title indicates, there's a tool on the Steins;Gate page that lets you input up to 10 full-size characters.

Yes, it hasn't been that long since I posted the three-episode thoughts on the summer season. But the fall season is already around the corner. orz

I got a bottle of ramune last month but was only able to taste it today. Apparently the brand I got was a famous Taiwanese brand, so I was looking forward to trying it.

It took me a bit of time to figure out how to take off the pink opener, but I found the design quite clever.

I was going to scout the fall season anime series on Niconico when I stumbled upon this very warming piece of news. Such an excellent Christmas present! XD

いいfigma、買わなイカ？

Someone asked me if I knew who Black Rock Shooter was, to which I answered yes and that I have the BRS figma. He didn't realize how little clothes BRS wears and seemed slightly disturbed that someone he knows has cosplayed as BRS.

Since I don't have a display shelf yet for my gunpla, my BRS figma is also still sitting in the box waiting for the day of glory to come. I figured I'd review its magnificence on Good Smile instead for the time being.

Even though I wasn't planning to get another figma anytime soon, I thought I'd check out the line up...

Black Rock Shooter 2035
卑怯な！ They're going to make one for the game version of BRS!? This one looks a lot more elaborate than the original, and the rusty feel of the weapons has got even better. Luckily, I already have the original and don't feel the urge to get this one. I do want the game itself, though. Very much.

Black Gold Saw
This one I actually would want. She was only on screen for a very brief time, but not only is the design attractive, but the figma itself looks really well done. In comparison, Dead Master's appeal is a lot weaker, despite her being the "boss" in the OVA. I really like her Dead scythe with its metallic sheen, though.

Last but certainly not least, let's not forget the eternal ドロッセルお嬢様. I will snatch this one up if I do see it, if only it's available... orz

But, despite all the purchase musings, I very rarely go down to where the (only?) local anime & figures shop is located. My best chance might be when I go to AX, but there's no telling when that would be (depends on the guests) and what would be available and their prices.

Musing is just that, musing. In my case, 妄想かな？

Cat's Eye

By Cat's Eye, I don't mean the café run by the art thieves trio or the planetary nebula.

I mean the mystic orb possessed by the feline kinds, specifically the big round pupils that magnify the cuteness of my cat ten-fold~ XD

So the first thing I did after I got home was to check my eyes in the mirror and then go peer into the eyes of my very cute cat: 見ろ、お揃いの目だ～

Not only did everything appear to be blurry, even the colours were slightly off.

Most of all, everything looked so blindingly bright!! なんて眩しい！！ orz

- Wolverineと同じ、主役二人の声優に釣られただけ
- 原作を全然知らないから、ただの吸血鬼ハンターの話に見える、ちょっとつまんない

うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ マジLOVE1000% ep.1-6
- こういうタイトルなんだから、ストーリーには期待してないが、まさか第一話冒頭のコンサートに爆笑したｗｗｗ
- 谷山さんも本物のうたプリに違いないが、やっぱりこのメンバーズの中には、宮野さんの歌声が一番好き

- 山間にある封鎖的な小さい村と、掟ようなお社（或いはっぽい物）。こんな設定はもう決まり文句になったな…
- 幸い、キャラが増えて、どんどん交差することが出来ているし、面白くなった。次のお楽しみに～
- でもやっぱり神様ドォルズ講座は要らんわい、その「ククリも喜んでる」もうんざり過ぎや！

- J.C.STAFFにしては結構良いな画と作画
- 主役二人の声優は知らないが、悪くない。アリスの喋り方はちょっとQBさまに似てるｗｗｗ
- 魅力的なキャラクターがいっぱい、ストーリーも悪くない、期待する番組だ

にゃんぱいあ The Animation ep.1-3
- 原作は同人誌らしい、凄くない？
- 3分間の短編アニメだから、気軽に見れる良い小品です
- ルルーシュにゃてんし(♂)→カレンにゃんぱいあ(♂)←リヴァル独眼竜まさむにゃ(♂)の三角関係は面白い XD

ダンタリアンの書架 ep.1-3
- 小物ような道具を細かく描いた、時代考証も少々してたみたい、ちゃんと２０世紀初の雰囲気を感じます
- キャラクターは美形、声優陣は豪華、作画も良い、何しろ物語は興味深い。結構好みかも。
- エンディングのアレはちょっと不気味けど

NO.6 ep.1-3
- 画が綺麗で作画も良い、流石BONES（何か、BONESに関して、これは成句になりそう）
- 何より、動物を丁寧に描くのは感心します。こんないい動きをする可愛い鼠、滅多に無いぞ XD
- ストーリーと設定はなかなか、結構いけると思う

ぬらりひょんの孫 ～千年魔京～ ep.1-3
- いつもと変わらず、声優陣の豪華さは尋常じゃないな
- やっぱり浅いな人間側より、妖怪側と陰陽師側の話に興味ある
- 第三話の予告に、桑島法子さまの声が聞こえた～～～ 待ってました！XDD

猫神やおよろず ep.1-3
- 画と作画は安定、話は思ったより面白い
- まさかの小西社員と陰陽師漫画家、ぬらりひょんの後にすぐ見ましたので、尚更ｗｗｗ
- これでスフィアの中で三人が出った、残り一人の出番は時間の問題かな？

輪るピングドラム ep.1-3
- 訳がわからないけど、生存戦略！！ XD
- Brain's Baseの名は初めて気付いたが、どうやら作画のクオリティーは期待出来そう
- やっぱり女がいる、しかも能登さん。思った通りのオチｗｗｗ

Sacred Seven ep.1-3
- これはサンライズから、東映の仮面ライダーへの答えかな？ XD
- 何あの最新技術を装備してドラキュラ城内のメイド部隊ｗｗｗ　あと、鬼瓦の絵文字はｶﾜ(・∀・)ｲｲ!!
- ランカじゃないが、お嬢様も好きになれない。若菜の方が良い、ちょっとゼーガペインのリョーコを思い出す

本命預定的夏目第三期還沒看，不過第二期還在視聽中，得先吃完那邊，所以沒寫在這裡。歌唱王子到第六話則是因為想聽完所有人的歌再寫，雖然全部輪完似乎是第九話的樣子。

加上夏目兩期，總共是18部，不愧是稍微淡季的夏番。不過再算上春番的半年番以及夏娜二期，等於要在戰國期的秋番開始前解決25部。 orz

當然是不可能。更別説我還在同時進行銀河美少年、Durarara、還有銀魂。如果Bleach目前的原創篇在秋番時結束，也得加入名單，最少有半年番的量吧。不過夏番應該也不都是單季番，所以半年番的延到跟秋番一起看也行。

まあ、就夏番來説，目前個人最期待的五部(非排名)為：本命的夏目友人帳、ぬらりひょんの孫 ～千年魔京～、ダンタリアンの書架、神様のメモ帳、輪るピングドラム。

其實我很喜歡にゃんぱいあ The Animation，不過因為是三分鐘的超短篇，不好拿來跟正常長度的作品比較。NO.6跟神様ドォルズ也算有潛力，不過類似題材的捏他在別的地方看過了，構想執行上也不算特別，所以落敗下陣。うさぎドロップ也是好物，但是治愈系已經有夏目了，りん又遠比不上にゃんこ先生啊～

那麼，既然夏番輪完一遍了，準備衝吧。それではガンダムファイト、レディーゴー！

ガリガリ君、再び

I didn't realize that ガリガリ君 is such a national snack in Japan, that even a non-gag type series would have a parody of it as well.

Episode 10 of Ao no Exorcist revealed another sub-species of ガリガリ君, this time called ゴリゴリ君! XD

I didn't expect to shed so much tears watching that episode... T__T

いいスライム、食べなイカ？

Ever since the news announcement, this blue coloured gourmet has had a tight grip on my appetite.

While trying to appeal to a friend of this upcoming treat, I searched for "blue slime meat bun" on a certain world famous search engine and got this, which title asked the "but will you?" question. When we both saw the title of the article, we instinctively proclaimed, "Of course I will!" at the same time.

Then we proceeded to lament the fact that it's meat bun and therefore can't be brought back even if Friend-K will be in Japan when the item in question starts invading Family Marts. It really is too bad...

Friend-K! You are now assigned with the very important mission when you go to Japan! You are to go to Family Mart, acquire at least one of those blue slimes, take lots of photos of it, then bring back the memory of its taste to us! 絶対だからな！

「誕生２５周年 ドラゴンクエ​スト新作発表会」

『ドラゴンクエスト X 目覚めし五つの種族』
ONLINE on Wii & Wii U

The presentation was hosted by Yasumoto Hiroki and a woman (no idea who she is) because... I got kicked out right when she was about to explain why. Luckily I was able to get back in soon after.

Guests included the game's designer Horii Yuuji, executive producer Miyake Yuu, producer Saitou Yousuke, and director Fujisawa Jin. Lastly, the boss of Nintendo Iwata Satoru.

A debut PV (no photo taking allowed during this playback), some screen shots, and two short play demo videos were shown during the presentation.

To summarize, DQ X is still under development and will be an online game on Wii and Wii U, and possibly using the 3DS for walk-by character swapping. USB keyboards can be plugged in for typing, in addition to choose from stock phrases when communicating with other players.

Character design and music are done by the same Toriyama Akira and Sugiyama Kouichi, and maintain the DQ feel very nicely. This is the first DQ game that's 100% developed in-house at Square Enix.

As indicated in the game's subtitle, there are five main races (didn't see humans though, even though the player character was human in the play demo shown) to choose from. There are the usual job classes of soldier, priest, wizard, etc., and there will be a system to change job classes.

Player can do solo play, acquire NPC from the Bar, or party up with other players. In other words, one can still enjoy the game by oneself. This is especially important for me (and a lot of people from the looks of the comments XD), as I tend to fall behind a few years when it comes to playing games.

One can log out anytime and leave one's character at the Bar as NPC for other players to use for party, so the character will grow even when one isn't playing!

Players enter into battles upon contact with the enemy on the field map. Battles are turn-based with the usual "fight" "magic" "tools" (I didn't read the last one...) commands, and onlookers (shown as half-transparent) can cheer for the players in battle to bring up the mood. Judging from this, only one group can enter the battle with the enemy, so kill stealing is unlikely to happen. On the other hand, the turn-based battle system makes the pace seems slower, so it might take time to get used to.

There's also an option to call for help during battle, where the onlookers can then help revive defeated party members. This should be fun. XD

Outside of the battle fields, players can also be masters of daily jobs such as blacksmiths or tailor and create customized equipment. Players also build their own houses and dictate the outer appearance and interior looks, and even invite friends over. The dwellers of different towns and villages will be actual players (except for the real NPC that tells the story and hints, I assume?).

The scenarios weren't touched on much since that's the meat of the game, and the guests didn't want to spoil the fun. From the looks of the screen shots, there world of DQ X would be a great one to explore. Of course, being an online game means there will be expansions for quests and jobs after the game's release. There will also be events in game depending on the seasons of the real world.

There's mention of USB memory, but I'm not sure how it'll be used...

Since the game is still in development, there's no information on the release time (except that they're aiming for 2012), price, or how they would charge for the online system. This will be crucial in determining the player demographics and popularity, and whether I'll be able to play it.

Fans of the very awesome series Arakawa Under the BridgexBridge will recall the legendary treasure guarded by the Amazoness and the tengu, ガリガリ様/Garigari-sama. I kinda figured it's a parody of something well known in Japan (from the Saitama Prefecture!), but didn't think I'd be able to actually try it.

Until today.

The "Samurai Blue" flavoured ice treat from Arakawa is based on ガリガリ君/Garigari-kun (from the Saitama Prefecture!). I have to say, it really is garigari and sharishari in the mouth~

The website also has a section describing the manufacture process. The specialized ガリガリ君 machine can make 21,000 ガリガリ君 in one hour! That's enough ガリガリ君 to almost last a life time! XD

ギモーヴ

I was watching Blood-C ep.2 when these interesting looking pink squares appeared on screen. They looked sponge-like and resembled marshmallows, but I wanted to be sure.

Off to Wikipedia! XD

Turned out that ギモーヴ is Guimauve, which is the French word for the marshmallow plant (which is no longer used in the production of marshmallow as we know it).

For us North Americans, marshmallows usually are soft-edged, cylinder-like, and often white. So it was no wonder that my interest was piqued by the pink squares in the anime. A quick search will show you all the colours and flavours available in the land of the rising sun. I think we're missing out in the land of the maple tree.

There's a part in the article describing that when the Fuugetsudou store first manufactured and sold marshmallow in Japan back in 1892, it advertised it as 真珠麿, which kinda affixed "pearl" to the name and was a direct kanji translation based on pronunciation (マシュマロ/mashuumaro). The first thing that came to my mind when I read this? 真朱/Mashuu and 公麿/Kimimaro from C. さすが親子～ XD

Since late last week, I noticed that my sandals were starting to make funny noises. When I checked today, sure enough, there's cracks and even holes on the bottom.

This called for immediate action.

So I got another pair of sandals right after work. In fact, it's the exact same style of the one I worn out, except it's a different colour and half a size smaller. This time, though, I was not being lazy and just went with the same style because I didn't want to try out other ones. It was meant to be. XD

Apparently, the store I go to for casual footwear carries different types of shoes depending on the season. August (well, September...), unfortunately, spells fall and even winter boots for the store. The sales clerk directed me to one small end cap where the clearance flip flops were, and it was the only pair of sandals there.

It was just slightly tight when I tried it on, but I'm sure it'll loosen to my size after a bit of wear. The current pair was bought 0.25 size bigger anyway, so it should fit fine. Hopefully the black won't clash too much with my jeans. Not that I really care. :Q

Mission goal: accomplished!

I'll start wearing my new pair of sandals to work tomorrow! :D

As for my current pair, it's time for it to retire. It's really worn out (and looks very much it) after roughly 12 months of daily use (got it April or May last year), so it's fulfilled its life mission.

I might go look for another pair so I don't wear out this one so soon. Although it may be a little too late to find sandals now that fall is already on the horizon...

The Google Puzzle

I tried The Google Puzzle earlier and was stuck for almost an hour before finally googling for solution, only to find that I did get the correct answer. But because I skipped a step and got to the answer itself directly, it wouldn't take my solution... orz

While I was stuck, I tried both the English and Japanese versions of the puzzle to see if one of them would take my answer. Turned out that except for the 1st puzzle which made use of Google Map, the other four puzzles were different for the two versions. I had a good chuckle when I got to the schedule puzzle for the Japanese version. XD

BLEACH DS 4th:フレイム・ブリンガー pt.2

I mentioned beating this game completely last year, and I just did it again today. ヽ(｀д´)ﾉ

With so many things piling up and waiting for me to watch/read/play/build, why did I spend almost another 19 hours replaying a game I beat completely? Well, I played the game ROM last year, but I got a new copy of the game in LA so I had to do it. XD

I also decided that I'll focus on the ROM games on DS now, instead of playing the cartridge games. And here's why.

Even though the 3DS is region-locked, it doesn't seem to be the same case for its backward compatibility for DS games. So I'll still be able to play my cartridge games on the 3DS (with bigger screens as well since I only have a DS Lite), but the ROM games can only be played on the DS through a hack.

Of course, ideally I wouldn't have to resort to the hack at all if all those Japanese games were readily available. Hopefully I'll find more games next time when I visit the west coast again.

敗家…しない！

As noted before, neither Aniplex USA and NIS America have distribution channels in Canada, so us [real blue] Canadians need to order from our neighbour down south.

I was able to get the Arakawa Under the Bridge season 1 and part 1 of Katanagatari at AX this year (both were BD+DVD combo), but was out of luck for part 2 of Katanagatari and part 1 of Kimi ni Todoke since they were not released yet. There is also Ao no Exorcist and maybe Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Star Driver is hard to say, as Bandai releases most products to Canada as well, but not every product (e.g. Gundam Unicorn blu-ray).

While there's no word on the release date and format for Madoka and Star Driver yet, pre-orders for the other four have been up on RightStuf, and I've been tempted to plunge in numerous times.

But I decided today that I will not do it, as least for the time being, as much as I'd like to. And here's why.

KimiTodo is a really good high school romance series, but half of the series doesn't warrant $44 when it's just DVD, and the animation and art aren't spectacular enough to make me want the art book included in the premium edition. I will wait for the standard edition.

(On the other hand, $60 at the AX for each of the BD+DVD premium edition of Arakawa and Katanagatari part 1 was well worth it. The Arakawa's book contains all the characters' profiles and the seiyuu casts' autograph and message as the character, and the art book for Katanagatari is simply beautiful. Not to mention the extras they gave me for purchase over certain amount, including a really beautiful postcard collection for Katanagatari, character art book for Trinity Universe, OST for a Nippon Ichi game, and a ticket for Shirosawa Miyuki's autograph!)

Ao no Exorcist will be released in Region 1 DVD only, but has Region 2 blu-ray. Right now it seems to be order-only for blu-ray in Japan so I'm not sure what the chance is for a standard blu-ray release in the future. I'll likely wait and see. Hopefully there will be blu-ray eventually, but if Japan isn't getting blu-ray as standard treatment, I won't mind settling for DVD.

Katanagatari part 2 is the only one I will get for sure, but that alone isn't enough to clear the free shipping threshold so I'll need to wait until there are other items. I can always grab it at the AX next time as a last resort as well.

Of course, there's also Durarara which I'd like to acquire, but that's $130 for a 25-episode series. That's essentially how much I paid for Zeta Gundam back in the single-case-release days, and that's a 50-episode series. So I'm still waiting for the price to drop a couple years down the road, or if Aniplex USA comes out with a collection set for it.

Aniplex USA really is the most expensive distributor... orz

With the usage frequency of this title, I sometimes can't help but contemplate whether I should create a tag for it...

After the Tactics Ogre order I made on Amazon.com a week and a half ago (and it's on sale now for $15 orz), I placed a few more pre-orders on Amazon.ca:
- Bleach: Fade to Black BD
- ICO / Shadow of the Colossus Collection (PS3)
- Twelve Kingdoms BD part 2

I'm especially excited about Fade to Black as I've been waiting for it since I saw the trailer at the end of DiamondDust Rebellion back in 2008!

Although I have to say that I'm starting to lose faith in Amazon.ca lately on the pre-orders. It's been unable to obtain a couple items and cancelled a few of my orders in the last few months, while those items were readily available (and sometimes cheaper) on Amazon.com and RightStuf.

Still waiting for word on Twelve Kingdoms BD part 1...
And they better have Gundam collection 1!

姆，嚴格上來説應該是春番單季作品跟冬番半年季作品的觀後感。

之前寫了前三話的感想，當時非排名的五部期待作是Steins;Gate、青の祓魔師、緋弾のアリア、デッドマン・ワンダーランド、跟へうげもの。不過這五部裡只有兩部是單季作，其他三部最後如何最少要等到夏番結束才能分曉，不然在春番裡應該會排名很高。

完食春番單季後，個人的前三名排名是：

以下為春番單季及冬番半年季作品的三言兩語，按照完食的順序，另外附加原作補完預定。

C
- 中盤時很實際地展露了為現在跟未來而戰的不同觀點，果然很沈重，但是引人省思的地方很多
- 結尾收的還可以，如果不讓身為公麿未來具體化的女兒愛上公麿會更好
- 真坂木不愧是全劇最歡樂的角色～XD
= 沒原作也沒後續，單純的一季動畫

緋弾のアリア
- 看設定應該還算有趣，但是動畫改編成殘念作
- 釘宮=アリア很搭，配上間島也不會有太大的老虎既視感
- 但是間島=キンジ根本一整個竜児，明明在花咲く裡一樣做飯但卻明顯是獨立角色…
= 手上有小説，不過目前排的很後面

Starry☆Sky
- 完全是為了推銷遊戲的背景介紹動畫（本來就是...）
- 折笠富美子也是被男後宮包圍而不會惹人厭的人材之一
- 覺得熱血老師的吸引力完全不能跟其他11人甚至一些配角相比是我的錯覺嗎?
= 對手上的四部原作遊戲頗有興趣，不過要有空才能玩就是...

俺たちに翼はない
- 果然不負所望如OP所敘，有裏故事
- 結局很ギャルゲー、いい意味で
- 動畫版其實是給女生看的吧？裡頭有點名氣的聲優都是男的，包括非玩家角色www
= 原作遊戲不會補完，不過就動畫來看算是還有點深意的ギャルゲー

Aチャンネル
- 地味に面白い、絵がサラサラ、方言も良い～
- 就青春期校園作品來說，女色度有點過高，男同學都是空氣
- 從頭到尾最不能理解トオル的心境是我的問題嗎...
= 原作是四格漫畫，沒有要補的打算

デッドマン・ワンダーランド
- 蜂鳥之後突然展開一轉，跑出一堆大牌聲優角色是怎樣 XD
- 放那種台詞的最後一幕我不承認啊～～～
- 至少也放個有名的咧嘴"科西"一笑啊（某人第一次這麼笑的時候就曝露正体了）！
= 手上有漫畫，不過目前排在有點後面的地方

よんでますよ、アザゼルさん
- 豪華聲優陣捨棄形象的全力演出！
- 話説這部不夠強的聲優根本演不起來！
- 不過還是不能改變這部内容很惡搞的邪惡事實www

変ゼミ
- 一開始跑去看這部的時候我就輸了 orz
- 果然一切都是石田跟花澤的錯
- 這部我是接在WEED之後看，從超帥忍犬總帥跟超正經旁白變成超變態發言的教授真是超級微妙
= 這種直接在名字就放變態一詞的東西，少了聲優的加持我怎麼可能去看原作漫畫

- 結果居然是第一部的前傳！
- 童心的大小姐也很可愛，大川透的執事更是自先代以來的最高忠臣！
- 看完Charming又跑回去看無印，很多地方都巧妙地有連接起來，好棒！

GOSICK -ゴシック-
- 少數從頭到尾作畫幾乎沒怎麼崩的作品，不愧是安心感的BONES
- 雖然勉強算是跟著原作走，不過後半的歩調亂掉，風格也跟前半相差很多
- 就前半部的鋪陳，為什麼久城會對金色妖精執著到成為他從第二次世界大戰戰場歸回的動力？！
= 手上有小説，不過目前排的很後面

30歳の保健体育
- 為什麼春季這麼多糟糕番 orz
- 不過其實都自主規声跟塗掉了，所以事實上只知道很糟糕但是不知道有多糟糕
- 被蓋掉太多，結果整部除了最後一話以外完全沒内容或劇情而言，完全に時間の無駄 orz
= 跟変ゼミ一樣，沒有聲優加持我不會去看原作小説

電波女と青春男
- 開頭圍繞著表妹所以興趣缺缺，其他角色出現後變得非常有趣，跟當初看WORKING時相同模式 XD
- 這部吐槽跟獨白頗有安達充之風，又是用樹多村光的聲優，就笑點來説完全在範圍中心
- 野・中・藍・好・萌 XDD　QBさま流子也很可愛～
= 手上有小説，可是動畫拍得這麼漂亮，怕會有落差感，希望小説有更多笑點；讀書單上約中等排名

DOG DAYS
- 雖然早就預想會是這樣，不過結局還真是超御都合吶…
- 有名聲優多到爆表，可是85%都沒什麼戲份，好浪費～
- 以獸人角色設定的作品來說，陸行鳥以外的動物都畫得超混是怎樣？不過貓球超可愛就是 XD
= 原作者有同步出小説的樣子，不過單純因為聲優才看的作品，當然不會去補小説

もしドラ
- 因為題材的關係，大半部都還蠻悶的，要不是高中棒球我也不會看
- 又不是安達充的作品這麼淡而無味的東西居然還真的掛掉角色是怎樣
- 一開始就沒在注意管理學的部分，故事也很普通，所以看完什麼都沒留下 XD
= 棒球光讀文字我沒什麼興趣，所以不會去補原作小説；電影？當然更不會看

あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。
- まさかの穴馬！最後一氣衝到個人春番單季排名第一！
- 看似單純的起點展開成複雜的羈絆成長物語；有一陣子沒看動畫看到涙ぽろぽろ了 （つд｀）
- 從第四話看到最終話，剛好外面放起煙火，まさに「お空にお花が咲いた～」
= 小説化的作者是脚本的岡田麿里，有更多的角色心情描寫，能找到的話會補完


結果除了播出前看中的本命以外，最終排名前三名裡有兩部在第三話的時間點都感覺普通，連非排名的五部期待作都沒上榜，但是都在跑完一半前就抓住我心。看來在主要角色人數較少的鋪陳期，如果已出場角色或至少男女主角不能都吸引到我，會導致期待度的低下。まあ、也不是説我比較偏好多角色，但是角色多表示可能會有我感興趣的角色出現，進而提高期待度。

單季作品的時間有限，通常展開會比非單季的要來得快，所以初期五部期待作居然有三部是非單季，這點我倒是有點意外。

接下來開始本格地跑夏番跟春番雙季作！目標是在恐怖的秋番開始前，盡可能地照進度吃完！（多分無理）
所以上禮拜跑去開始補銀魂到30話出頭的我是挖坑的笨蛋 orz

Thai Tea Ice Cream

Whenever I go to the Chinese supermarket, I always look for those delicious icy treats. Usually I aim for the Japanese or Taiwanese brands, but I decided to try a Thai brand.

The flavour on the box is stated to be Thai Tea, and there's two images on the lid, one for the flavour and one for the ice cream. The flavour one is pretty normal, just a glass of Thai tea. The ice cream one, on the other hand, looks like an ice cream version of pearl milk tea.

Out of curiosity (I seem to do this a lot, especially when it comes to food), I went with it without really knowing what Thai tea tastes like.

The ice cream really is milk tea flavoured, with pearls. XD

It ended up being my dinner last night as I was busying slashing and blasting through hordes of familiars and battling witches. Yes, I will cover the Tasogare Frontier doujin game in the near future and share the downfalls of my mahou shoujo.

It just occurred to me that I forgot to add El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron to the wish list yesterday.

It's a shame White Knight Chronicles II won't have the Japanese audio so I'll need to look for the Japanese import for it. Can't wait to play the first game (import, of course)! :)

Just as I was browsing the recommended games on the El Shaddai page, I noticed that Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together has dropped from $39.99 to $24.99! ($0.01 more to qualify for free shipping!)

I had this game in my wish list for a long time but the price remained the same since day one, and considering that most games go up over time on Amazon.ca, I was ready to jump in.

Out of curiosity, I checked Amazon.com. It's $19.93 with a free shipping special promo.

Since I already pre-ordered the other stuff I want, I didn't have anything else to add to make it free shipping from Amazon.ca. I ended up ordering from Amazon.com instead.

Not the first time that I forego the Canadian store and turn to the store down south because of the price difference. With frequent sales often up to 50%, Amazon.com is such a huge black hole for me. If it weren't for the fact that I don't live in the US, I'd probably shop like crazy from there. しっかりしろよ、Amazon.ca!

I don't really consider myself a gamer because I don't spend enough time playing games, but I definitely would like to. With my affinity to a lot of the seiyuu, I usually refuse to buy games that's English dubbed if it was originally voiced over in Japanese.

Blu-ray has the storage capacity for dual Japanese and English tracks for the option, but DVD doesn't. So to be fair to the console makers, game makers usually can't include this much-wanted feature for multi-platform games. Of course I'd prefer to get the Japanese version, but due to the difficulty of acquiring one in this little town, I might sometimes consider the North American version if it contains the Japanese audio track.

Here are the three titles that I've put into my wish list after confirming the dual audio option:
- Bleach: Soul Resurrection
- Gundam Musou
- Gundam Musou 3

I acquired several games while in LA so I'm in no hurry to get those right now. You bet I'll be monitoring the prices of those games and snatch them as soon as the prices come down. The Gundam Musou ones I'm really going to try getting the Japanese version because there's music/songs used in the game/original anime that's not licensed for North America so they couldn't use those.

On another news, I just pre-ordered part one of Gundam 0079. Yes, the First Gundam! :D

Amazon.ca still doesn't show the image of the product so it's a little worrying (they've been kinda bad on getting some of the new releases lately and had to cancel my orders), but hopefully they'll have it!

The title pretty much sums up my feeling when I received this very very wonderful and awesome gift from aniki today.

Not only is it Gundam, but it's Gundam UC! ( ﾟ ∀ ﾟ )
And it also has Sinanju!! ( ﾟ ∀ ﾟ )

The only slight downside is that, similar to the Monster Hunter T-shirt, this M-sized men's T-shirt is a little tight for me around the shoulders (Japanese men are too skinny...) But this one has a straighter design for the sleeves, so one or two wash-n-stretch should do the trick. Had to do at least three to four cycles for the Monster Hunter one before...

Aniki got an Evangelion one. Can't wait to wear our awesome ota t-shirts together! XD

Ceui

I fell for Ceui when I first heard her in 空を見上げる少女の瞳に映る世界 (a.k.a. Munto TV). The lucidity and serenity of her voice is really soothing and healing, and yet conveys so much emotion. She writes all the lyrics for her songs and compose most of them as well.

When I heard her again in 伝説の勇者の伝説 (The Legend of the Legendary Heroes), especially the insert song Energy, I was moved once more. Frankly, I have to say I would be hesitant whether to buy the LOL Heroes anime if it gets released here because it wasn't done very well. But the performance of the seiyuu cast really was most excellent, as were the songs, three of which were Ceui's.

I've been listening to all the Ceui songs I have today, and it really makes me want to go read DenYuuDen. If I can just finish the 56 volumes of Inuyasha first... Only at vol.11 now. 頑張ります！

The gremz keyword yesterday, desertification, successfully rendered a meerkat! :D

And when I went to save the snap shot of my gremz tree with the meerkat, I realized I can cheat instead of trying to figure out the different keywords!

The photo base usually shows three pages of the most recent snap shots, the newest one being my own. While looking at other snap shots, I can just click on the blog link of the ones that also display the keyword specials, then browse through the blogs to find the keywords they used. The only thing is, since the keyword only needs to appear in the title or the text body, if it's written as part of a post instead of labelled as a gremz keyword, I likely wouldn't be able to tell.

Of course there's also Google, but I'm too lazy to actually search online for them. As for the photo base, since I'd go there to save my snap shot anyway, it's not as much work for me.

So my new trick has told me this next keyword: 省エネ XD

血塗れ

One thing I like about non-tropical countries is that there's fewer pests and bugs due to the lower temperature. Unfortunately, this summer has been very very hot.

Tonight I saw my first mosquito indoor since I moved, and when I squished it with tissue paper, the little white square was instantly dyed bright red with a sizable stain.

The detestable insect had a full meal not long before it met its death, and the victim was possibly me or the cat! The blood smears were easily wiped off the wall with water soaked tissue, but it was still rather grotesque to see fresh blood smears on sterile white wall...

Just as I tossed the tissue paper with the broken body of the mosquito into the toilet, something flashed through my mind. What were the colour and the strip patterns on the pest? I hope it didn't carry any disease?! It better had not sucked those blood from the cat!

Here's hoping it was just a regular and clean mosquito that had stumbled into my apartment before I had a chance to close the windows when the thunderstorm hit. *crosses fingers*

3DS

The hottest gaming news today is probably the price drop for the Nintendo 3DS system effective starting August 11th, for a whopping ￥10,000 less!

Since the price drop is happening barely 6 months after the launch, Nintendo is offering early adopters free downloads of 10 Famicom and 10 GBA games from the virtual library, which amount to ￥10,000 worth of game downloads.

I was also able to verify somewhat that while 3DS is region-locked, North American DS games seem to play just fine on Japanese 3DS systems.

Now I just need to wait for a nice colour to come along and snatch one! XD

I've been wanting to try it for a long while now but, being my usual lazy self, have been putting off the task of looking up the method and the actual keywords. These keywords often require some researching on my part, so I've been keeping the e-newsletters but never got around to find out what the keywords are.

Then I saw an easy one. I know this word for sure. Now it's just a matter of implementing the gremz keyword to make the special decoration springs up alongside my gremz tree!

Google+

After a short initial trial last week with Google's latest social network service, I deleted the G+ profile. Judging from the posts in the help forum, privacy issues with Picasa web albums sharing in Google+ seems to be the main reason for those who leave the trial, including me.

Then, I got another invite from a friend today, and I remembered that I have another account with no Picasa contents... I'm still trying to get the hang of it, but I'm slowly getting used to getting bombarded with update notifications. XD

Of course, it's still in the trial period so there's a lot of kinks that need to be worked out, but I have high hopes for it. If only the feedback function works properly...

8bit

The first thing that usually comes to mind when one says "8bit" is probably the Famicom/NES system. But we're talking about PC here. A PC game to be released at the end of October 2011, to be exact.

The game in question is STEINS;GATE 8bit, and it looks really interesting! The fact that you input command manually is nostalgic and reminds me of MUD. No mouse clicking! XD

Of course, I'll try to acquire the Windows version of the original game as well, though that might be a bit tricky... It's probably easier to get the PSP version. :Q

A while back, after watching the audio commentaries for the first two episodes of Madoka Magica, I had a very brief discussion with Neko-tan about spoilers contained in audio commentaries.

We agreed that there would naturally be spoilers since those are usually recorded long after the seiyuu did the voice over for the episode and even the series might had finished airing by then. Not having enough experience in this, I thought it should be fine as long as one watches the episodes in that particular disc before watching the audio commentary.

I was proven wrong by the first ever audio commentary episode in the long history of Gundam. orz

Well, I kind of figured a few of the spoiled items would happen eventually, but it's still pretty 囧 to get confirmation in such casual manner before I can see it with my own eyes...

Lesson learned. I'll keep this in mind when I encounter other audio commentaries in the future. :x

Sony PS3 Surround Sound System pt.2

I went and got the sound bar yesterday after work from Future Shop, and some guy got easy commission by simply intercepting me as I made my way to the front cashier with the box in my arms.

The sound bar took only a few minutes to set up. To commemorate this special occasion, I popped in the 1st disc of AIR TV for testing the PS3 upscale feature. Apparently, when the firmware update was released back in 2007 for the DVD/BD upscale, AIR TV was used as the standard to make the DVD quality rival that of the BD.

It looked absolutely gorgeous compared to when I watched it on the tube TV back home! Though my heart tinged a little when Misuzu spoke...

Since the DVD only has 2.0 audio, I couldn't tell how well the sound bar fares when it comes to imitating 5.1, but it's definitely much better than the flat built-in TV speakers.

I have the setting on dynamic at all times and the volume on max at 30. Tried the night mode and noticed it did get slightly quieter, but I can't gauge how effective it is in minimizing disturbance to the neighbours. So as a rule of thumb, I limit my watching time on the TV to around 10pm.

Overall, the sound bar is not a great system by a long shot, but it's my best option for upgrading from the built-in TV speakers. I have limited space and can't turn the volume up too much should the neighbours complain, so even if I had the money (which I don't), it would be impractical to get an actual sound system anyway.

I look forward to watching 5.1 materials and playing games after the AX and see how the sound bar will perform!

これが本当のことなら、マジで泣くぞ。

三世代でもかかるの百年戦争。脚本と監督次第で、それは相当な物語を編むことが出来るかもしれない。

でもあの子供向けアニメすぎのキャラデザインとメカデザインは何なんだ！？見たことがないけど、何かあれはイナズマイレブンぽい感じでもあるじゃない？

協力してるのレベルファイブのことはよく知らないが、ネット上での反応が破滅的そう、ちょっと心配だ。

いずれにしよ、全ての真相が明日の夜に明らかになる…！

まさか本当にAIRの神尾観鈴とシンクロして、ゴールに辿り着いった…

最後まで頑張ってた川上とも子さんのゴールは観鈴と同じ様に幸せと一緒、心からご冥福を祈ります。

川上さんが生命を注ぐ、いろんな感情を伝えて演じた、素敵なキャラクターたちと出会いことができ、本当に幸せだと思います。

セーフ!

I beat the Walpurgisnacht thunderstorm by less than 5 minutes! There's non-stop blinding lightning flashes and roaring thunders going on outside, and water was all over the place as fire trucks sped down the street with sounding siren.

The sun was still attacking with full force high up in the sky when I was getting ready to take off for the day, but the heavy 43°C humid air foreshadowed the thunderstorm to be followed. While I was waiting for the bus, I could feel the very occasional rain drops from the accumulating clouds, and the sea of grey clouds was quickly overrunning the previously blue sky.

If I had missed the bus and made to wait for the next one, I would had surely be caught in the middle of a huge mess. Well, I'd likely had waited it out in the bus shelter, but I'd rather walk on dry ground than treading through water puddles on the way home.

Alas, thunderstorms like these don't last long. As I come to the end of this post, the thunder roars gradually move away to invade the adjacent region, and normal rain takes over. There's more thunderstorms forecasted for tomorrow, but hopefully I'll be able to beat them as well. XD

六月検討会

Back in the beginning of the year, I listed a few things I'd like to do this year. Let's do a quick review after five months.

③ finish reading at least H2, とらドラ, and 植物図鑑
- H2: vol.3 → vol.4 out of a total of 17 volumes (wide edition)
- とらドラ: vol.4 → vol.5 out of a total of 10 volumes + 3 spin-offs

④ finish at least one of Chrono Trigger, FF IV, or DQ IV
- Chrono Trigger: side quests before final battle
- FF IV: Dark Crystals arc; no change
- DQ IV: clear!

I got quite a bit done in May and finished DQ IV(!) a few days ago. Unfortunately, the amount of time I spent on reading and playing games was time I didn't spend on watching anime. As a result, I'm very far behind on the spring season series, and my hard drive is constantly out of space at <5GB.

Now that I've completed the round for the first three episodes for the spring series, hopefully I'll be able to give it a boost and catch up somewhat before the summer season starts. That would help with clearing up some hard drive as well.

I wanted to start on DQ V right after beating DQ IV, but decided to hold it until I get all the endings in Chrono Trigger. I think I only managed to see five with the SNES version before I no longer had time to play. 今度こそ…！

ファイヤーボール チャーミング ep.1-3
- 元の姿はずっと可愛らしいけど、新・お嬢様はなかなか動感的、スタイリッシュです
- 何か、前期の軽くなユーモアが重くになってる。もう、世間知らずのお嬢様じゃないよな
- でも相変わらずネタ満載で面白い～

TIGER & BUNNY ep.1-3
- 絵は酷い、キャラデザインと3D Modellingの意味
- 「実際に各企業向けにヒーローたちのスポンサーを募集する」、というCM作ｗｗｗ
- TIGERとBUNNYくんに注目、結構面白い

もしドラ ep.1-3
- 画と作画は安定
- 個人的にまあまあの声優陣だが、悪くない。「え、あ、はい」はウザイけど
- 野球が好きなので、普通に面白い

30歳の保健体育 ep.1-3
- 何これ orz
- 声優の無駄使いだな、ある意味
- 演出はおもろいけど

- なんか複雑（理論）、しかしそうでもない（使い方とその理由）、金や資産のことは
- 櫻井さんのキャラ似合うねｗｗｗ
- 期待どおりの面白さかな、今のところ

俺たちに翼はない ep.1-3
- 原作はギャルゲーなので、もともと期待してないが、いい意味で期待はずれ
- 諏訪部さんに注目、日野さんのキャラはメインの一人じゃなくて残念、あと杉田ｗｗｗ
- 美郷あきのオープニングテーマソングはちょっとRPGぽい、燃えるぜ～

DOG DAYS ep.1-3
- ちょ…　何この超展開？！ヴァラエティのゲームかよｗｗｗ
- 絵には安ぽい感じますが、猫玉はすっっっっごくカワイイ～XD
- 奈々ちゃんとほっちゃんのテーマソングの雰囲気はやっぱりなのはシリーズに似てる、悪くない

変ゼミ ep.1-3
- 変ゼミの変は本当に変態の変です orz
- こんなモノを見ましたの自分が大切な何かを失ったような orz
- 全部は石田さんと花澤さんのせい orz

電波女と青春男 ep.1-3
- 絵がすごく綺麗、シャフトには思わないほど
- 声優的には（樹多村光、佐倉杏子、キュゥべえ）ちょっとデジャビュな感じ
- 最初は本当に電波過ぎてよく分からないが、「ああ、なるほど。普通の青春成長物語なんだ。」に納得した

トリコ ep.1-2
- こんなに酷い絵を見るのは何年ぶりかな…
- ストーリーも含めて、もうツッコミすらも出来なくなるくらい
- 本当に声優の無駄使い

緋弾のアリア ep.1-3
- さすがツンデレの女王
- 二人の関係はとらドラにちょっと似てるが、感情的にはこっちの方が強く感じます
- 作曲の尾澤拓実はよく知らないけど、BGMは熱いね～

あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。 ep.1-3
- 画と作画は結構良い
- 声優さんたちにあまり注目してないから、ちゃんとキャラたちを見つめることができる
- これもまた、一つの青春成長物語だな～

花咲くいろは ep.1-3
- さすがP.A. WORKS、絵がすっごく綺麗
- ストーリーとキャラは普通に面白い
- 本当のホビロン（食べ物の）はマジこえぇ～ orz

よんでますよ、アザゼルさん ep.1-3
- これもめちゃくちゃだ…
- 変ゼミほどの酷さじゃないけど、また近い存在
- 何この無駄に豪華の声優陣ｗｗｗ

Dororonえん魔くん メ～ラめら ep.1-3
- 今さらこんな古いモノをアニメ化とはな…
- ちょっと木村貴宏と声優の無駄使いだな
- 思ったよりサービスシーンが多いよねｗｗｗ

へうげもの ep.1-3
- 日本の歴史や文化をよく存知てない自分にとっては、いい勉強になる
- 争いが多い戦国時代けれど、観ると妙に心が落ち着く
- 結構良いものだ

SKET DANCE ep.1-3
- ちょっと学園バージョンの銀魂ぽい、ネタも多いし
- 画と作画はジャンプ系アニメとしては結構良い、声優陣も凄い
- 普通に面白い

デッドマン・ワンダーランド ep.1-3
- 演出が結構ハードけど、画面は自主規制で随分黒く処理して、虐殺部分は見せない、ピー音もある
- でも本当のテーマは友情や自分の信念と思う
- 花澤さんは何処でも天然の癒し系ですね～

Steins;Gate ep.1-3
- 銀河美少年がStein's Gateを通った変態になったｗｗｗ
- 普段のNitro+とは違う、もっとSFな設定が、やっぱり雰囲気は半端ない
- タイムトラベルとういうテーマはちょっと好みので、面白い

青の祓魔師 ep.1-3
- 澤野弘之の音楽はやっぱり最高だ、燃えるぜ！
- 正十字学園の外見はジブリみたい
- 声優陣は豪華だし、ストーリーも結構いけると思う

卻下了トリコ，春季番要追20部，不過冬番大部分都是單季作品沒幾部延續，可以同時追舊番(おい)。 XD

就目前看了前三話來看，不算本命的Fireball Charming兩分鐘超短篇，個人最期待的五部(非排名)為： Steins;Gate、青の祓魔師、緋弾のアリア、デッドマン・ワンダーランド、へうげもの。其實C也很合我胃口，但是規模有點深，引人省思的地方太多，就小品作來説有點半硬。當然銀魂也很期待，但是得先補完第一期...

I planted a tree in Indonesia! ( ﾟ ∀ ﾟ )

Actually, my 1st gremz tree was one of the 520 trees planted in Indonesia on the Java Island through Friends of the Earth Japan!　Mine was either part of the mangrove forest along the coastline to help protect against sediment erosion, or part of the agroforestry project to help recuperate and sustain the land for another village.

Looking forward to when my 2nd gremz tree gets planted, too! XD
