Was it luck or misfortune? Just when I made up my mind to go to the CAYAC meeting, Mum issued the order to mow the lawn. Well, I know I was supposed to do that yesterday but didn't, but I only have two shifts next week. Can't I just do it sometimes next week? The gas price would probably be lower, too.

Alas, it's no use arguing so I ended up mowing the lawn instead of going. And everyone phoned in to ask why I didn't go... That'd teach you the importance of doing things when they're due.
